Audio Tape Digitisation Workflow

3.5. Select target format

WHY:
The wider the acceptance and use of a digital audio format in a professional audio environment, the greater possibilities for migrating the format to future file formats when it becomes necessary. The linear PCM .wav format is widely accepted by the archiving community, therefore IASA recommends the use of .wav files or BWF.wav (see Broadcast Wave Format link below) files.

HOW:
Select the correct file format and file properties in the settings window of your recording software and make sure that the chosen parameters fully correspond with the settings of the A/D converter.
